Due to a damaged water line in the construction site of the new Marriott Hotel Complex, The State Museum and IMAX will again be closed today (Friday, July 11).
Citizens Thermal Energy has been on site and in control of the situation since a short time after the incident occurred. Their efforts have been slowed due to the depth of the water line, which is 18 feet below grade, and a fiber optic cable that runs directly above the water line.
The leak was finally exposed at 8:44 p.m. yesterday. Since that time, CTE has continued to assess the damage and determine the best suitable fix. They have also continued to excavate the area and prepare the broken pipe for whatever the repair may entail.
Unfortunately, we do not have an estimated time as to when the repair will be complete and the line will be back in service. We will provide you additional information as we receive it.
We appreciate and thank you for your continued patience and understanding.
